Innovative sensor against chimney fires
The cold and short days are coming, so it’s that time of the year to sit comfortably and warm by the wood stove. Don’t forget to clean your chimney before you start using the stove intensively, because a dirty chimney is one of the biggest reasons for a chimney fire. According to the Dutch Fire Department, chimney fires occur more than 2000 times a year.
Organised via the KVK Business Challenge, Fluctus is working with Icr3ate and Studio Mango on an innovative sensor to prevent chimney fires for insurance company Univé. During CES Unveiled Amsterdam on October 17, Univé presented the prototype that will be tested at several households this winter and is about collecting useful data. In the meantime the first module has been installed and will give us the first data quickly.
